SRK vs Hrithik vs Salman, TV War Begins…

Shirts are off and top three bollywood men with fight it ON for TV space. Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan joins Shahrukh Khan this weekend on TV. With IPL over, big ticket TV shows make debut this week across different channels including NDTV Imagine, Sony and Star Plus.

Hrithik Roshan lends his support for singing reality show ‘Junoon’ on NDTV Imagine. While Salman Khan is already a buzz being a comic caper.

Will Hrithik and Salman have enough DUM to over-come Paanchvi PASS King Khan, Shahrukh Khan??? All three shows clash on prime band on Fridays and Saturdays. Here is the low down.

Rakhi Sawant Wins Reality show Yeh Hai Jalwa

Few days back we asked a question… Rakhi in Yeh Hai Jalwa Finals, Can she win now? Guess what? our very own drama queen has finally won a reality show ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’. She defeated finalist Hussain and Ronit Roy.

This win has restored Rakhi’s faith in GOD and bad memories from ‘Nach Baliye 3′ debacle. Rakhi was on the high celebrating her victory. As far other contestants, Ronit Roy did his bit in trying to dance.

Rakhi’s real competition came from Hussain who did all he could to put up best show for the audience. In the end it was Rakhi all the way… finally she has something to cheer and nothing to crib!

Don 2

The buzz was…Shah Rukh will produce Don 2

Current status…

After the success of Don, Farhan Akhtar had declared he will make the sequel of Don. Our source close to Farhan told us, “Farhan is keen to make a sequel but the movie is still in the primary stage. Currently he is busy with Rock On. Don had an open ending so it’s obvious that Farhan was planning to make the sequel as he gets fascinated the Don concept. Shah Rukh will again play Don. It’s early to say as when the shooting of this film will start.”

Krissh 2

The buzz was…Shah Rukh will be a part of the sequel

Current Status….

“The film is still in the initial stages. Roshans are currently concentrating on “Kites” for which they will start shooting in July. The Krissh sequel will go on floors after the release of “Kites” i.e. in 2009.”

Partner 2

The Buzz was…the name of this film will be” Tom & Jerry”

Current status…

The work on the sequel of Partner has started. According to the reports, Partner 2 will happen next year with the same hit trio of Salman, Govinda and David.

Munnabhai Chale Amreeka

The buzz was…It would be shot in America with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. The trailer was shot at ND Studios in Karjat.

Current status…

Munnabhai Chale Amreeka has been shelved for the time being because Sanjay Dutt has been denied US Visa and Rajkumar Hirani is busy with 3 Idiots.

Dhoom 3

The buzz was…Adi Chopra would direct Dhoom 3 and it would star SRK, Abhi and Uday. Ash and Rani were supposed to be part of the film.

Current Status…

Dhoom has been YRF’s one and only successful franchise. With Tashan creating flop records at the box office, there has been speculation that Adi has roped in younger bro Uday to direct the third venture. Anyways, Uday doesn’t have any movies with any other banner and was last seen as Abhi’s accomplice in Dhoom 2. It has also been rumoured that Kareena would be part of it.

Day 1: Bangkok’s Heating Up

It’s the day before the IIFA weekend kicks off in Bangkok, Thailand and it looks like all of Bollywood has been transported to BKK. Arshad Warsi with wife Maria, Zayed Khan, Apoorva Lakhia, Niketan Dheer, Manish Malhotra, Vikram Phadnis, Ramesh Sippy are just some of the celebrities who have already made their way to this buzzing city.

Here are just some of the interesting things that we managed to catch even before the day is over!

Naughty Naughty

We caught Ram Gopal Verma and Urmila Matondkar travelling on the same flight from Mumbai to Bangkok… coincidence we think not! Look’s some relationships in Bollywood do last!

Bang! Boom!

The ever jovial Arshad Warsi has something else on his mind – he wants to blow up a Volkswagen in London! But wait a second aren’t we in Bangkok?! Anyways the actor who will be turning producer soon has already planned out his first film and it will be shot entirely in London. And he wants us to tell anyone and everyone who has a Volkswagen and is ok with Warsi blowing it up… get in touch!!

Worried of KJO?

What’s this we hear?! Urmila who herself is a hosting a show on television is worried about playing host on Sunday night’s award ceremony. But it’s not the mega night that is giving her jitters but the fact that she will need to deal with Karan Johar’s theekhe one liners… sigh…what happened to out mast Urmila we wonder!

Drama Queens

Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis are very worried. They are busy running from one end of the Dusit Thani hotel to the other completing their fittings for the fashion on show on Saturday! And that’s not all. Manish is also designing the clothes for Kareena and Katrina performances so he’s having way too much drama with these two Bollywood queens! (What? Did you think we called Manish and Vikram the drama queens!)

If there is one family that can unarguably called the first family of Bollywood it’s the Kapoors. And this year they’ve turned out in full force. While Kareena and Karisma are on their way we spotted Chimpu Kapoor who couldn’t stop praising his nephew Ranbir. And in addition to that he said he was looking to forward to the fun, food and drinks at the event – and from the look of things he was already sampling all of them!

Big B’s arrival

Amitabh Bachchan is expected at 6.25 am tomorrow and has a full packed day. Starting out with a business conference showcasing the business side of things of the IIFA and after that he will be laying a plantation at the venue. But it doesn’t stop there! After that Mr. Bachchan heads off for his interviews and finally ends the day with the premiere of Sarkar Raj! They don’t call him Big B for nothing now…do they?!

No blogging, no six pack-abs, says Abhishek

Blog and six-pack-abs are the latest fads in Bollywood but Abhishek Bachchan continues to remain averse to both of them.

“I will not go for six-packs. I am not doing anything to get it. I am very happy with my one-pack and I would love to hold on to it. In fact, I would like every one to go back to one-pack,” said Abhishek.

Although his father Amitabh blogs, the young actor said he won’t start blogging as he does not consider himself as punctual and dedicated as his father in maintaining it.

Amitabh’s blog has, of course, drawn a lot of media attention due to his controversial remarks and satirical style of writing.

“I keep shooting outdoors and I don’t think I can update it regularly, so I don’t want to start it,” Abhishek said.

Meanwhile, Sarkar Raj starring Abhishek, Amitabh and Aishwarya will be hitting the screens this Friday.

While Sreesanth and Harbhajan’s slugfest may have ended with a 3 crore fine and an 11 match ban for Bhajji, one can’t help but wonder about the fights in Bollywood. Call them cat fights or the men taking on one another, we look back at some of B-Town’s famous fights and what could have been the appropriate punishment for them!

Aishwarya – Rani

During the making of Shah Rukh’s Chalte-Chalte Salman and Ash were going through a rough patch. The bad boy would often turn up on the sets and cause a disruption. Fed up with the constant hassle of dealing with Sallu’s anger, SRK is believed to have got Ash removed and replaced with Rani. Now what this has resulted in is a cold war for years between Ash and SRK as well as Ash and Rani who were said to be quite close when Chalte Chalte went on the floors.

Punishment - We think Ash has had the last laugh where Rani is concerned… she is after all Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan!

Kareena Kapoor-Bipasha Basu

Abbas-Mustaan’s Ajnabee marked the debut of Bipasha Basu but it also laid the foundation of one of the longest running feuds in Bollywood. Kareena and Bips are said to have hated each other’s guts from day one and things at one point got so bad that Bebo was heard calling Bipasha a “kalli billi”

Punishment - We think fact that Bips scored big with her bikini on screen way before Kareena must have had the Kapoor beauty squirming for the one and half year that Bebo sat at home!

Aamir Khan - Salman Khan

It’s the wrong perception that only actresses have catfights. During the making of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna, our very own Khan brigade who acted in the movie were not talking terms with each other off-screen although onscreen they cracked us up with their antics. And till date there is no love lost between Aamir and Salman!

Punishment - We think Aamir and Salman, who are both known for being particular about their fitness, should set a date for nine rounds in the ring to settle things once and for all… this one will be a bigger hit than Andaaz Apna Apna!

Koena Mitra - Riya Sen

On the sets of Subhash Ghai’s Apna Sapna Money Money Koena and Riya were constantly taking potshots at one another. It is believed that Riya leaked to the media that Koena had undergone a nose job. Obviously this didn’t go down well with Koena who then went about screaming her lungs out that it wasn’t her but Riya who had gone under the knife…

Punishment - We think the two need a brain transplant! Did they really think that we can’t make out the times they - or for that matter any of the others - have gone under the knife…

Sharmila Tagore- Rakhee

Sharmila Tagore who was known as the Bengal tigress had a showdown with her co-star Sharmila Tagore on the sets of Daag. The sets of the movie had a battlefield like atmosphere with Sharmila having the silent support of co-actor Rajesh Khanna which left Rakhee bitter.

Punishment: We think the senior actress learnt her lesson because not only did Sharmila enjoy a longer run at the top of the box office she also managed to score a close friendship soon after Daag with Rakhee’s ex Gulzar!
